Where did these Rangers come from?!?!

For as long as I can remember, the Texas Rangers have been a part of my life. I remember watching Nolan pitch at the old stadium, being taken out of elementary school early to go to Opening Day at the brand new stadium, The Ballpark in Arlington. I remember when the All*Star game came to  Arlington and sitting with the family at the Homerun Derby and then the game. I remember eating ice cream out of helmets as a kid (and maybe still as an adult too :) )  I remember being on the "Kiss Cam" with my Dad while we were at a game during the summer while I was in college and then getting boo'ed when I said to the camera "This is my Dad". I remember spending countless hours inside the Rangers locker room interviewing several players as a sports intern for two DFW stations in college and I remember everyone thinking that "this year is going to be the year", only to be disappointed after the All*Star break.

I never would have ever thought that the World Series would come to Arlington! But this year, it happened and the Fenn's were there!!!

It all started with the ALCS between the Rangers and the Yankees. I was in town for a work retreat when my Dad called and asked if I could sneak away early because he us tickets to game one of the ALCS Game! I screamed with excitement and immediately told my boss that he was going to have to take the group to Reata without me because, I was going to the game!!! It was such a fun night for my Dad and I. We've spent many a nights at Rangers games and this one definitely ranks up there!

The excitement of the game was so fun until, well, the Yanks took the lead and broke my Dad's heart once again. Every one walking out of the stadium kept mumbling, those Rangers sure do know how to tug at your heart strings! (Little did they know...)

It came down to Game 7, and Jeff had planned a birthday celebration for me with all our friends. We of course had to change the plans and my birthday party turned into a Rangers watch party at our house. I may or may not have paid much attention to the twenty or so guests at our house but they all understood, this was a big deal! The boys clenched the ALCS, at home, and I cried, in our home! We were all so excited and shocked! Who knew, our Rangers were finally going to the Big Game!!!

I had my friend, Whitney's, wedding on October 30th, in Tulsa, OK. Early Sunday morning, I woke up to a call from my Dad saying, get in your car and head to Arlington, we're going to the game tonight!!! I couldn't believe it, he pulled through again!!! My Dad stayed up till 2:30 in the morning to make the final bid on a set of four tickets for Game four!!! (For those of you concerned as to why Jeff was left out, he told my Dad that he didn't want him to buy him a ticket, because he wasn't emotionally invested in the team, like we are and, he knew finding four seats would be so much harder than four... CAN YOU BELIEVE HOW GREAT HE IS?! I love that guy!!!)

I made it to Arlington, just in time to hop in the car and head to dinner at the Diamond Club with the fam. (One of my Roger's friends is the manager so, she got us in without a wait!)

My Mom was on cloud nine, with her kids in tow at the Rangers game! She told almost anyone that would listen that she remembered packing up an ice chest with juice boxes to go to almost every game when we were kids!

Rog and Me!!
It's ALMOST TIME!!!

They're both pretty excited!!

I love Rangers fireworks!!!

Despite the loss, I still can't believe the Rangers made it to the World Series and the Fenn Fab Four were there to witness! We had such a fun night as a family and here's hoping the Rangers make it back again next year!!! Good Season Boys!!!
